Carpentersville, Dundee, Algonquin, Cary, Lake in the Hills,
Barrington, Meadowdale, Elgin, Sleepy Hollow...
They were all great places to grow up in the 60's and 70's.
My family and I attended Saint Monica Parish for over 10 years growing up.

Father Adolph Weideman (1970-1974) with Father John Slampak, the associate priest at the time,
led the parish in coming to understand the changes and challenges of the renewal movement in the church.
Father Slampak was great, he wore different colored shirts, like Orange !! And he played the guitar and taught
catechism which I attended on Wednesday nights during the school year. I received my First Communion,
and Confirmation there during the 60's and 70's.
Catechism classes at Saint Monica hold some very fond memories for me. I have a report card,
but don't know if I should post it or not.
